Christmas Photography Time
It’s always great to photograph a Christmas event and get in to the spirit of things. It’s even better when the event is inside an incredible building – in this case, a carol service at The Chapel of St Peter and St Paul at The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich.
Charity Photography
I was hired by The Marine Society and Sea Cadets, a charity set up with The Royal Navy and Maritime Community for youth development and lifelong learning, who wanted me to photograph their carol service. It was the first time they had been allowed a professional photographer to capture this splendid event and they wanted someone who had experience with charity event photography to shoot for them.
Beautiful Low-Light Interior Photography
As well as capturing the congregation at the carol service, the Chaplain and carol singers; I was also asked to photograph the readers, who were young members of their local Sea Cadets. I wasn’t allowed to use flash photography at all, so I relied on natural light photography, which resulted in very warm, attractive and rather festive photographs as you can see below….
The Sea Cadets really is a fabulous organisation and if you’re interested to find out more about them, please visit their website here: www.ms-sc.org
